Brief description
persona 4 arena is a 2012 fighting video game, developed by Arc System Works based on the Shin Megami Tensei: Persona series owned by Atlus. It was released in Japan in March 2012 for arcades, and on July 26, 2012 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles. It is the first region locked game on PlayStation 3. It has been released in North America on August 7, 2012, and will be released in Europe on September 7, 2012.
The game takes place two months after the events of Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 and features characters from both that game and Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3. The plot focuses on a fighting tournament starting in the TV World where people fight using their alteregos known as Personas. The console versions added a story mode that follows each character's participation in the tournament.
REVIEWS
Overviews
persona 4 arena has taken a persona series into a whole new level, unlike its predecesor its a one on one fighting game, and the battle system of the game is done by Arc System works (the company who is responsible for blazblue series). In this game, they combine Persona 3 world into Persona 4 world. There's only one question about this game, is it great or greatly fail? did this game worth the money or its worth to be thrown away into the trash can? you will find your answer in this review.
(Falost here, I write few thing here too, using BLACK font color)
Story
as I already stated on the brief description, the story takes place two month after the P4 incident and two years after P3 incident. it is all started when our siscon protagonist decided to visit yosuke and the other during the golden week, when he arrives at inaba, he find out that the midnight channel is back, not only that Rise, Kanji, and Teddy is missing, knowing this, our siscon protag is back into the TV. well from reading my previous sentence it gives you an impression that Yu Narukami will be the main spotlight in this game, but sadly its wrong, the story will go arround Labrys, a fifth generation of shadow killing weapon AKA Aegis older sister who in struggle to accept her own self.
at first I though the story will be quite plain, since its only a spin off from persona 4 series, but after playing for about 3 hours nonstop I realized that it has very very deep story into it! not only that they also tell us how persona 3 cast get involved in this mess. usually a spin off game, or a fighting game didnt give a damn about its story but it seems that this rule didnt applied to Atlus, they made an awesome story into this fighting game. I dont want to spoil the story here since its will destroy your motivation to play the game, and also I'm quite lazy to type it here, the story mode of Persona 4 arena is 40-50 hours of reading, its just like playing some visual novel. even though its quite long I didnt find myself bored in the middle of reading it, because the awesome story will never let boredom nerve in your body turned on.
as you guys (probably) knows, Persona 3 has a "Dark" and "Serious" theme into its game, while Persona 4 has "friendly" and "Sparkling" theme in its game, so literally those two is not supposed to be mixed into one game, or so I though, but again this rule didnt applied to Atlus, this entirely new game still has the sparkly theme which is belong to persona 4 game, but somehow maintain the dark and serious theme from persona 3, this thing can be proven by seeing the list of the ending you get, theres three kind of ending here, hanged ending, jokes ending, and true ending.
about the character interaction, its great especially the "mocking" session of the story, it will make you laugh a lot.. (even though the story is quite heavy)
so in conclusion I would give the story for persona 4 arena is 4.9 out of 5.0 its near perfect :P

Gameplay
again, as I already mentioned above, the battle system of this game is done by arc system works
so if youre familiar of their game, you will adapt to the battle system easily. Ive played some of arc system works game and found myself quite disliking it and I feel the same about this game, I dont know why but I guess its because of theres not a lot of move in it and also its hard to do the combo, but luckily in this game theres auto combos which kinda safe my ass, but
even though there's auto combos I still didnt like the gameplay.
In my opinion, the auto combo made it worse, since you can't do advance combo if you fail on landing the first hit on the enemy, and when u caught in one, there is no way you can break out, without help of the burst mode (once in few minutes) or sheer of luck ( well, maybe there are ways that I didnt know about), and maybe from my view point, as not-one-of-the-fighting-games-fans, its not as fun as other fighting game, since there is no much moves (per character), and neither they have a lot of character (okay, this one actually had nothing to do with gameplay), but I dont know, maybe its still okay for blazblue series, but not for me...
In bright side, this game introduced a new inflict-able status like poison, charm, freeze, burn, and some other, and this game provide challenge mode that act as additional training mode, and u can fight online players (but still, I prefer playing with friends in one rooms, so I can yelling and swearing to them directly lol), oh there is one mode that I think has been miss-titled, the score attack mode, it should have been titled "Hell mode" its difficult as hell (for me at least)
Here some persona arena's features:
-Status
-Character pallets ( u can change players and persona colors)
-Commentators, you can have Rise, Yuuka, Teddy or even Nanako (if u one of the "Nanakon") cheer you in the heat of battles, but you have to beat the score "hell" attack mode first, gosh...
-Burst (i use it to break from foe's combo attack, the gauge will fills over time)
-Persona attack and persona break ( you can use persona to attack, but if the enemy successfully attack your persona, one (out of 4 persona card) will break, and after 4 card broken, u will entered persona break period where u cant use persona)
-Awakening mode (character entered a state where it can use special "awakening" attack, which damage a lot)
-Special character passive skill, like yukiko heal, akihiko electric charge, and etc
-Auto combos ( just keep pressing one button, it require some SP and HP)
-Instant kill attack, it require full SP and burst gauge and 4 persona card, its....... kill foes instantly
so for the gameplay I'll give it 3.0 out of 5.0 (sorry for the arc system work fans)
I'll give this one, 7 out of 10 (in gameplay)

Presentation
the presentation... what is the right world to describe the presentation of this game....
ah I found it.. the presentation of this game is Sparklingly interesting. you will find the menu, character selection and before the battle screen interesting and pleasure to your eyes.
hearing this word coming from a person who didnt care about the presentation of the game its quite suprising, but by seeing it with your own eyes you will realise why..
its 4.8 out of 5.0

" Menu screen"
Graphic and Art
its awesome, freakin awesome, the background graphic, the character sprite, in game art, the CG, the animation all of them are awesome, I didnt have any complaint about the art and graphic
its 5.0 out of 5.0

"the animation sample"
Music
man its Shoji Meguro, I didnt have to state the obvious right?
(its use some p3 and p4 Ost, but still, it has its own brand new composed musics)
its 5.0 out of 5.0
Voice Acting and sound
since the japanese voice acting is already great, I will focussed only on the english Dub.
lets start with the grunting, shouting and other regular sound effect, so far I find that theres no problem with that, I didnt find any disturbing and annoying voice or whatsoever, so I believe its a good dub.
and now lets talk about the dialogue, at some point I found that the intonation of the character is kinda flat, especially yukiko, I dont know whether its only me or it is indeed flat, but its not really a problem. by the way I realize that the voice acting of some character in this game different from the previous game, its not bad, but its quite a bugger for a person who actually enjoy the dub from a previous game.
so for the voice acting and sound effect get 4.0 out of 5.0
OVERALL
I highly recommend this game to the people who enjoy RPG, and its a must for persona 4 fans, but sadly I thing this game is not suitable for a hardcore fighting game player since the move list is not that much.
I don't understand why would someone recommend it to a RPG-lover, seriously.... but for you, you, and you who love persona 3 and 4, there is a lot of aspects of this game that will make this game worth buying, the musics, characters, persona, all those skill (I still don't know how to instantly kill someone use hama- or mudo-, do they die when the time hit zero ? hmm), even the art and settings, even when u doesnt have fighting game skills or experience or limited by the move choices, it will comes with high perseverance and a lot of training (well it will never works out to me, since I still have a lot of RPG games to grinding to, just saying, its not my cup of tea)
overall this game is 4.5 out of 5.0
hmmm, 8 out of 10, ( this comment comes from players who plays this games using his friends ps3 ( tsundere lover), and says "thanks God, I havnt bought it yet, since there is region lock, and my regular shop runs out of it's stock" *crying happily*, and when people ask "why?", he'll answer "because this kind of game that I only play when I have my friends visiting my place, not because it a bad game or something like that." -Falost-)
oh yeah I forgot to mention this game has an online multiplayer which is not limited by region, so you can fight japanese without requiring you to bought japanese PS3, even though its online play is not limited by the region, but the disc is region locked.. weird isn't it?
and again.. at the end of the game its said that its not over..so I guess there's gonna be a continuation of this game.. is it right? somebody answer me (by commenting)
hmmm tsundere lover, actually, I hope they more focused to make the next persona or other SMT series, the RPG one, (for ps3)
by the way, if you ask me whether I like this game or not, I will answer it by saying
